Eternal Ascent Society Reaches New Heights in Cremains Disposition

The balloon can be released at any meaningful site

The balloon can be released at any site meaningful to the departed and his family

A family sends their Loved One

A family sends their Loved One on a final flight to the Heavens

LAS VEGAS, NV— Convention goers sought out the Eternal Ascent Society booth at the National Funeral Directors Association Expo in Las Vegas, eager to learn more about licensure for this innovative means of cremains disposition.

Following cremation, the deceased’s ashes are placed in a 5-foot biodegradable balloon. The balloon is then filled with helium inside the patented inflation chamber, which can be transported to any chosen site at the family’s request.

The balloon is released and slowly ascends, expanding as it climbs, until it reaches a height of 28,000 to 30,000 feet (almost 6 miles) above the earth. The temperature at that altitude, 40 degrees below zero, causes the balloon to freeze and then fracture, scattering the ashes of a loved one to the heavens.

Once licensed with the Eternal Ascent Society, funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries can offer to the families that they serve this beautiful alternative to the more common methods of scattering the ashes of a Loved-One. With an increasing focus on personalization of services, families will certainly welcome this unique service as a truly meaningful way to say good-bye to their loved ones.

For more information about offering Eternal Ascent Society’s patented process as an option at your firm, call Joan West at (800) 808-2082 or e-mail her at jwest@eternalascent.com.
