Who will be my instructor?
Your instructors are experienced industry leaders and business professionals. For example, one of our lead instructors has over 30 years of executive experience and holds an MBA from The Wharton School.
Is membership a requirement to join this program?
No, the CANA Deathcare Business Administration Certification program is not limited to employees of current CANA Member firms.
What prerequisites are needed to take this certification?
Any employee funeral or cemetery professional is eligible to take this certification. Current employment is not required. This program is recommended for recently promoted and aspiring managers.
I work in a cemetery. Am I eligible to earn this credential?
Of course! All funeral, cemetery, and crematory professionals at any stage of their professional career are welcome to become a Certified Deathcare Business Administrator.
I don't work in the US. Am I eligible to earn this credential?
Everyone working in deathcare is eligible to become a Certified Deathcare Business Administration. However, the program was developed focusing on the US and Canadian business practice, which may not be directly applicable to professionals in other countries. Live meetings and coursework may be difficult due to the time difference from North American time zones. Continuing education hours are not pre-approved so you should contact your regulators about whether it would apply. Use your own judgment about whether you want to participate.
Who should participate?
The program benefits everyone, from CEOs to aspiring managers. For the best results, we recommend that owners, managers, supervisors, and high-potential employees participate for the most impactful organizational alignment.
Will this certification get me a job or a raise?
There are many factors that contribute to your success in deathcare. Are there assignments and testing?
Yes, throughout the program, there are knowledge checks and a cumulative exam at the end. All assessments must be passed to receive your certificate.
I want to open my own crematory. Should I take this class?
This course is designed to improve your business administration and management skills with practical skills and strategy. It will not cover crematory operations, starting a new business, or funeral directing. For courses related to crematory operations, please visit here.
How many people should join from my team?

What if I miss a live session?
