The Cremation Association of North America (CANA) is the only association solely focused on cremation. We understand the industry and its challenges. We help our members find success.

CANA membership unites professionals who represent all aspects of the cremation industry – from independent businesses to corporations and from academic institutions to suppliers. Affiliation with CANA demonstrates to clients that practitioners are dedicated to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The CANA logo on members’ doors, websites, and printed materials illustrates commitment to a professional organization and lends credibility because CANA keeps them up to date on emerging practices and policies.

Who is eligible to join?

CANA Membership is held at the firm level and includes all staff who:
  • Believe that cremation is not the end but the preparation for memorialization
  • Recognize that cremation is impacting their professional future and wants to be proactive in turning this into a positive rather than negative force
  • Want to learn more about cremation and how to maximize the opportunities it offers
  • Own or operates a crematory
  • Want to be part of an organization that is making a significant contribution to the funeral service segment of the death care industry.
Suppliers, consultants, educators, and students are welcome to join as non-voting members to share in the education, communication, and networking benefits of CANA Membership!

A Regular Member is a proprietorship, partnership, corporation or society operating and maintaining a crematory (human or pet), a columbarium, a cemetery, a funeral home or any combination of the above. Annual dues: $539 • Complete an application Online or Print
An Affiliate Member* is an additional location or affiliate firm of a Regular Member. They shall be entitled to all privileges of membership, except the right to vote or hold office. Annual dues: $159 • Complete an application Online or Print
A Supplier Member* is an organization or its authorized representative that sells its products or services to crematories and/or cemeteries. Annual dues: $539 • Complete an application Online or Print
An Association Member* is a trade association, governmental agency or educational organization which has an interest in the activities of CANA. Annual dues: $539 • Complete an application Online or Print
A Professional or Consultant Member* is an individual rendering, performing and selling professional consultative services to crematories, cemeteries and/or funeral homes. Annual dues: $539 • Complete an application Online or Print
A Student Member* is an enrolled student of a mortuary science or funeral service program who is interested in the subject of cremation and promoting memorialization. Students must be working toward licensure as a funeral director and/or embalmer, US-based programs should be accredited by the ABFSE. Annual dues: $35 • Complete an application Online or Print
Students, you may be eligible for a complimentary membership if your school is already a member of CANA. Check your school's membership status and contact us for details.
